Although Emily will be 3 at the end of Sept .. she is still babbling a lot in her babytalk .. we understand her cos we're with her the whole day but strangers won't have a clue.
For instance, when she talks about food (and she does so everyday at about 11 plus - for lunch and 6 plus in the evening - for dinner) she says she wants to eat rice, soup, "shee shaw" and "ball" ... She means "chicken" and "fishballs" ..
sigh.
It's not like she doesn't know the correct word for it .. she can say "chicken" when u correct her .. but I guess when she's hungry .. she lapses into baby babble and says "shee-shaw" .. it's super farneee cos who on this earth will understand that "shee shaw" is "chicken"? NO ONE. If my child gets lost and strangers pick her up and she demands "shee shaw" when she's hungry then HOW?!!!! lol.
Anyway, Emily is a big big rice eater ... she loves rice so much she can even eat it plain. She has often requested for a bowl of plain white rice after she's has her dinner just so that she can savour the taste of plain rice. Bizarre, right? I don't argue with her cos being a parent, you're just ecstatic that your child is eating healthily. She loves her milk (she still takes formula from a bottle happily) and also eats lots of fruits and yoghurt too.
I just don't understand how come she's still so skinny .. her tummy is ROUND .. really round .. but her arms are like twigs. lol.
My life as a momma to 5 girls .. their everyday(mis)adventures, antics and of course, photos of them growing up :)

Smart alec ...
I was putting Calista down for a nap in the afternoon, so before I walked into my room, I told Lauren and Emily NOT to enter my room UNLESS they were tired and wanted to NAP (cos Calista was already asleep in my arms and I didn't want her to wake up). They have a tendency to seek me out in my room once they get bored of each other's company ... then they start jumping and playing on my bed ... *sigh* of course, how is Calista supposed to nap??!!!
So with that warning ... I placed Calista down on my bed and decide to take a nap myself .. since she tends to nap longer if I'm napping with her .. (hahaha lucky me)
Barely a minute later, Lauren comes into my room.
I glared at her and ask her what she was doing in my room.
Her answer .. cos it was clear on her face that she had forgotten my instructions just mere minutes before ...
"But I'm tired ...... (long pause here) of Emily" ..
Told her that that didn't count .. and to get out of my room (before she woke Calista up) ..
LOL !! The little scamp. Wonder WHERE she learnt that from.

Another really useful baby product ...
Got this for Calista ... My Baby's Own Deluxe Travel Chair by Snazzy Baby. It's quite cool! Now, I don't have to put her in a highchair if it looks icky or if the place doesn't have any or I can also use it in the shopping trolley when we shop at Carrefour for groceries !!

What Calista has been eating ...
See the tubby baby? ... lol .. Here is what she has been eating ...
Yea, even though it says it's for babies between 10-15 months .. it's actually not really chunky .. and it's quite yummy though it's a tad sourish ...
ok, Calista hated this one and I think I threw most of it out .. * sigh* now THIS one has a lot of chunks ... dunno how come it's for 7-9 months .. - p.s. u need to warm this one up to make it softer ... as for the rest, not really but I just prefer Calista eating warmed up food (already it's from a jar how much lazier can I be? lol.)
Calista waiting for her food ....
Now this one is a fav of Calista's ... she finished her portion in minutes ... lol. Again, though it's supposed to be for babies from 10-15 months ... the pasta was very soft and very creamy and very easy to eat ... so no prob for a baby Calista's age.
There's another one that Calista quite likes ... Cheesy Pasta Bolognaise I think .. I tried that myself .. very tasty ... !! I highly recommend that too !

Emily, the yoghurt monster ...
This is how much yoghurt I buy for Lauren and Emily ... mostly Emily who eats it almost everyday sometimes for breakfast ... she loves strawberry .. the pineapple/peach ones are for Claudia .. the rest .. Emily.
This btw, won't last a month.
SIGH.
The only consolation I have is that yoghurt is good for her tummy.
Lauren turns 5 !!
The girls were all still not really well especially Lauren and Emily but we decided to have a quick lunch at Fish and Co when we collected her cake at SSC.
There was of course nothing that Calista could eat there ... gave her teeny bits of my fish though ...
Emily enjoyed the soup ... fish chowder I think ...
This was Lauren's cake .. it wasn't even 1 kg ... they went by size ... it was 18 by 18 inches and yes, it tasted AWESOME with the pink maracoons and those fluffy cream filled things u see on top ... filling was chocolate and chocolate mousse. It really was worth the $76 bucks I paid for it. My first choice is still the chocolate cake from The Patissier (that I ordered for Claudia's birthday bash a few years ago) ... but that cake was 2 kg and it was freaking $200 plus I think .. lol.
This cake is from Le Grenier à pain .. a bakery at Sembawang Shopping Centre ...
Before u ask .. yes, she is in her pyjamas .. lol.

At 7 months 1 week old ...
Calista can ...
1) crawl quite fast so it's dangerous to leave her unattended on the bed even for a minute.
2) go from a crawling to sitting position quite proficiently so one minute she's on her back smiling at you .. then she's crawled somewhere to pick up something that caught her eye ... and the next, she's sitting down playing with it.
3) starting to pull herself up to a standing position and is trying to balance herself unaided for a few seconds at a time.
Daddy let her stand on our dining table and let go .. she stood like this for a good few seconds before she toppled over .. hahahahahahah !!
We're waiting to see if she can break Emily's record of walking at 9 months ... Lauren did it at 10 .. Claudia at 14 months.

My girls are sick
yes all of them ..
*sigh*
It started 2 Fridays ago after a swimming session. Claudia had accidentally swallowed some pool water and started complaining of a sore throat soon after ... the next day, she was down with a fever and her sore throat got worse ..
We figure it's strep throat .. she had it once before when she was younger in the States when we lived there. Claudia didn't go to school for almost a whole week cos her fever went up and down and her throat was so sore she couldn't eat most things. She said eating rice was like metal beads going down her throat ... poor thing. The doc prescribed antibiotics and she rested at home ..
Then last Thurday ... Lauren and Emily came down with a high fever ... and and then yesterday, it was Calista's turn ... *sigh* I think they have the flu .. A friend asked if it could be H1N1 and I said, well, the doc said that if you haven't been to one of those affected countries or come into contact with someone with it then it's probably not. Of course, who knows .. but I was irritated cos her daughter was having the sniffles too and I didn't immediately jump to the conclusion that it was H1N1. How annoying.
Thankfully, all the girls including Calista are ok with swallowing meds and they have been on fever meds regularly .. Claudia, Emily and Calista are now fever free .. Lauren is still havin a fever .. Emily is having a running nose and phlegm in her throat, Claudia's throat seems to finally be on the mend.
At the moment, Stanley and I are ok. So is the maid. Hope it stays that way.
