Calista :)

I originally emailed Calista's photo in for the "What a cutie" section of the mag - where they feature photos of babies sent in by readers .. (it's almost right at the back of the magazine) so I was pleasantly surprised when they called me up and asked me to bring her down for a photoshoot at this cute little hair salon cum cafe called "Hairloom and Caramel" located at Beach Road.

I loved the romper they put her in by Gap. And thankfully she didn't mind them plonking the hat on her head. lol !!

3 years old ...

awwww ... my sweet baby, Emily Nicole, turns 3 today. the 28th of Sept ... we went to Vivocity Earle Swensens on Sunday to have a family lunch to celebrate .. here she is eating her spaghetti ..

Busy weekend ...

We don't have many busy weekends .. the girls usually have their Chinese tuition at home on Saturday mornings while Daddy has his guitar lesson ... and then we do lunch and SOMETIMES we go out .. it depends cos I dislike going out once it's past 11am cos it means you might not get a parking lot in town .. so even if we do go out, it's usually not town ...

Anyway, last Saturday, my friend, Michelle threw her daughter a birthday party .. for her 5th birthday ... here are some pics ..

Lauren .. and her very cute balloon sculpture .. the lady who does it is really really talented .. she did so many complicated balloon figures like a crab, Ariel, a ballerina, a mouse, a sword, a gun ... and she wasn't cheap to hire too :p

My friend also hired this entertainment company to organize games etc for the kids .. here is the pretty "Aunty" Ariel ...

ALMOST 10 months old ..

My baby turns 10 months old in 5 days' time. 2 weeks ago, she weighed in at 8.9kg. She LOOKS rather petite but is heavy. Aw come on, she is about 1 kg away from a bag of rice. That's heavy, man. I still carry her, but I use the sling cos I find it's less of a strain on my back carrying the little pumpkin. LOL !! Mostly though, I dump her in her stroller. Damn good inventions those things are.

Calista can clap her hands and wave bye-bye when asked to. She is adventurous and fearless ... crawling and climbing and cruising everywhere and not afraid to take a tumble. But yes, she does YELL down the house if she hurts herself .. *sigh* And boy, does she have a powerful set of lungs on her ... when I'm driving, and she's pissed off ... she can holler from Orchard Road all the way till our home in Woodlands. Nickelback and Linkin Park music cannot drown out her cries - I've tried, believe me - and I have 10 speakers all around my Odyssey plus an awesome subwoofer. I definitely cannot hear the reverse sensor beeping when she's BAWLING in the car ... thank goodness, I also have a reverse camera. HAHAHAHA !!!

My girls unfortunately, aren't the typical love dolls, everything pink and fluffy kinda girls.

SIGH.

Give them an option and they'd choose cycling, swimming .. running around ANYTIME.

They enjoy doing things like that with their Daddy .. I delegate all those type of activities to him or else let's face it, the man would be of no use to me ... lol !! -- I'm KIDDING.

So he is the one who takes them hiking up Bukit Timah, cycling, swimming ... that sort of thing. Mummy does the boring air conditioned malls and other indoor activies like The Polliwogs etc.

Inherited ...

Went to the pediatrician today. Emily and Calista have been having this running nose that has been around for like 2 weeks straight. And Emily has been having a cough too. I've been giving her medication yet it still won't go away so I finally brought them to see their pediatrician at Eastshore.

Turns out they inherited Daddy's sensitive nose.

Well, it ain't from me. I don't have a sensitive nose. I don't sneeze and leak when I encounter irritants in the air like dust, pet fur etc ... that's DADDY.

And it cost us $245 .. Doc prescribed antibiotics since it's been dragging so long .. and Emily's nose is slightly infected he said.

WTH.

tied it up .. lol !! She looks so cute !! She refused to look at the camera so I didn't manage to get a shot of her looking straight at me. Will be tying up her hair from now on :)

Love Gap stuff.

Was pleasantly surprised that for the photoshoot that Calista did with Young Parents at Hairloom and Caramel on Wednesday, they put her in a Gap outfit ... YEAH GAP !! Love their stuff. heh.

She looked cute in it .. I love Gap - my girls are like spokesgirls for the brand cos I can't resist buying their stuff ... the bodysuit u see above is from their St Petersburg Collection ... I lurve the prints !! Go have a look !!

Exciting news and look at what the lil monkey can do now !!

See the lil rascal's face? .. Well, Young Parents magazine called me up the last week and asked me to bring Calista down for a photoshoot at this quaint salon/cafe called Hairloom and Caramel at Beach Road :)

So yes, I brought her down on Wednesday afternoon .. and THANKFULLY, she was ok and happily smiled for the camera *PHEW*

She'll be in the October issue ... well, I hope she will. LOL. I hope they had at least ONE nice shot of her that they can use. There were other CUTE babies and toddlers there .. I have no clue WHAT the shoot was about .. cos I neglected to ask *duh* I was worried that the little aunty would throw some weird hissy fit and not sit and pose nicely.

LOL !!! Well, we'll have to see when the Oct issue comes out !!

And here she is CLIMBING. In this clip, she only climbs up the bench seat. She has since graduated to clambering up onto the table top too .. sigh .. Not like she can walk yet. She has started cruising but I don't think she'll be walking like Emily did at 9 months old. Maybe 10 months ... who knows? .. Cos she is quite happy crawling on all fours everywhere now ..
