Forget the zoo ...

if you wanna catch monkeys up close and personal ... just take a drive up Old Upper Thomson Road and slow down .. there are TONS of monkeys just loitering around the roadside picking cooties off each other, eating god-knows-what and even doing the nasty ... (I was quite horrified actually) ..

Anyway, there are these other cars that also stop along the way to peer at the monkeys ... who are just LOUNGING around on the roadside .. and funny thing is, some of the monkeys are just as curious about us as we are about them .. trying to look into the car .. I suspect they were waiting for handouts ... We are not supposed to feed the monkeys but of course, some people do ... how annoying. The sign telling people NOT to feed the monkeys is HUGE .. it's a BILLBOARD .. and yet, people still throw food at the monkeys who then come to expect food from people. We spotted a monkey eating a doughnut and another one munching on a "yew char kueh" .. u know, the Chinese longish fried dough ...

Lauren and Emily were THRILLED to see the monkeys right outside our car .. Emily can't say "monkey" ... she says "ma ... meee" ...
Great.
Stanley couldn't stop laughing.

We also drove to Lower Pierce Reservoir for a quick walk .. the girls really enjoyed it .. again there lots of monkeys to see ... my camera batt died on me so all the pics were taken with my N73. It was a rather cloudy day so the pics sucked a bit. dammit.

Guess who this is .. ? Yup, Claudia when she was a baby, about 10 months old I think. Anyway, look at her - people used to think we ADOPTED her from China .. lol .. I'm not kidding. Plus, when Stanley was carrying her, people used to give him weird looks as if to say, "you kidnapped that kid, or what?!" ... hahahaha. He got so annoyed.

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

Went for my 1st check-up today ... saw the ultrasound, saw my baby's heartbeat ... so exciting! This will be our 4th kid and it was still amazing to see!

My nausea isn't so bad this time around ... my friend says it could be a boy then .. I seriously think it's a case of my body getting used to the hormone change .. after all, I was pregnant in 2004 and 2006 .. anyway, hubby and I want 4 kids .. so girl or boy, we're just darn happy about the pregnancy .. !

Before I had the scan, I was SOOOOO hopeful that I might be preggers with twins ... everyone I told that to thought I was insane .. hahahaha ... anyway, my hubby told me outright that just cos I WISHED it .. it doesn't mean it'll happen ...

HUH.

Turned out to be true ... you CAN'T just wish for twins and be pregnant with them .. *DUH* ...

lol. My husband is happy ... he says we have reached our quota for kids .. if there had been more .. we'd have to give the extra away .. like kittens ..

lol. yeah, right ...

sorreeeeee ...

been lazy as hell to blog ... not that I don't have anything to say or report .. I do, just haven't been getting off my ass to type it all down into my blog ...

first off, Claudia passed her Grade One ballet exams .. WITH HONOURS!! That just means she like scored between 85 - 90 marks I think ... but hey, it's awesome enough ... :)

Lauren had a 6 monthly check-up at the dentist last Wed ... that went fine .. dentist was impressed with her teeth .. THANK GOD. Will wait for Emily to turn 2 or 2.5 before she makes her first visit to the dentist ..

and yes, we visited the Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve last weekend ... u can see my pics on my Facebook page ... gosh, I am so not the trekking thru the tropical jungle type of woman ... It was fine when we visited Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs .. it was AWESOME. The weather was lovely, nice sights ... etc .. we all enjoyed ourselves immensely walking there ...

After that, Sungei Buloh seems just LAME.

lol. Plus I got bitten by blardy mosquitoes too.

Went for Emily's Hep A injection last week .. she had her usual checks .. weight, height and head circumference .. the little aunty is in the 90th percentile for everything. No wonder she seemed to weigh a freaking ton when I had to lug her up 14 storeys .. lol. Well, so not really a ton .. 11.8kg I think.

HUH.

She doesn't look HUGE to me ... I thought she'd be in the average zone now ..

There are things I regret in this life ... and one of them is ...

agreeing with my hubby to buy an apt on the highest floor ... on the blardy 14th storey ...

Why, you ask? ... It's no picnic walking up blardy 14 floors when both the lifts are out and the repairmen are nowhere in sight .. AND you have $125 worth of fresh and frozen meat .... AND you have 2 toddlers with you ...

SIGH

Granted, this was the FIRST TIME I had to use the stairs to walk up, it shure as hell is my LAST ..

The next time it happens, I am driving straight to my mom's place nearby and dumping my stuff in her freezer till my lifts are fixed.

My poor maid carried the bulk of the groceries and rushed off ahead while I took my time with some bags and the 2 girls ...

Initially, I carried Emily on my hip and trooped up the first 4 floors thinking ... "Hmmm, this isn't SO BAD" ... LOL

I think I nearly passed out on the 5th storey. I cursed everything and everyone .. while panting like I was going to DIE ... and when I reached thee 10th storey, I was carrying Emily under my arm like a sack of potaotes .. or a huge clutch bag ... poor baby.

She insisted on getting down and walking up the stairs herself at that point so I put her down and was walking up behind her in case she lost her balance ...

Lauren had Grover tucked under her arm and was walking up happily .. of course by the time we got to the 10th floor, she kept asking .. "Is it THIS door?" at every level ...

There I was panting and about to collapse into a big heap onto the steps .. and I still had to answer her .. "No, baby .. keep going up" ..

LOL.

I was SWEATING, SWEARING and generally not in a good mood by the time we got to the 11th storey. Plus my elderly neighbour, who I met as she was on her way down ... thought she was being helpful by stating the obvious ... "wa, difficult huh?" ...

If I had any strength left at that point, I would have swung my plastic bag of chwee kueh at her in exasperation ... but oh well ... LOL

Anyway, the damn lifts were repaired about 20 mins after we reached home ...

I was too tired to come out and holler at the technicians. I did however call the condo office the min I reached home, and while panting ... expressed my extreme unhappiness and frustration and TIREDNESS at the lift repairmen's sad lack of quick response.

My husband also didn't help when I rang him to tell him the good news that we had made it .. all he said was "Wa, you made it ah??"

All men are so useless ..

That's the freaking last time I walk up 14 storeys ..

I think if there had been a zombie chasing me up ... I'd have just thrown myself at him at the 5th storey and be done with it ..

lol. yes, me and my obsession with zombies ... I really should stop watching those zombie flicks ..

Emily sings EIEIO

Emily can sing! Well, PART of the song anyway ... LOL.
