Random pics ..

Emily ... taken today ... the little girl is 12.4 kg at 21 months ..

Claudia in her new pair of spectacles .. she refused to smile for the camera ... lol

This is Ginger .. my cat .. she lives with my mom .. she's REALLY old. I got her way back in 1991 - that makes her 17 years old ... as she's now a very senior citizen .. all she does is lounge in her bed most of the day ..

Here is Emily with Isabel, our dog .. Isabel is a sweetie pie who won't hurt a fly .. We got Isabel in the States when she was only a puppy. She's now 6 years old ..

Of course, the guards at my condo think she's an attack dog who will KILL them if they come near her .. *stupid buffoons* lol.

Emily cannot say "Isabel" .. she calls her "Belle" instead ...

My child has attained a new level of kaypoh-ness

Lauren is a very friendly and sociable child. She can start a conversation with ANYONE and ask an ADULT anything .. she's totally not shy and will charm and smile an answer out of the grumpiest ah pek ...

There were a couple of times, as we were on our way down in our lift, Lauren, being the ever inquisitive child .. would ask me, "Mummy, where is the Uncle/Aunty going?" ... of course, this was actually directed at the other occupant in the lift at the time ... some neighbour from another floor that I am NOT friends with .... (I only know the people on my level). man or woman ... the little kaypoh just WANTS to know. I'd shush her and just say, "Going out I guess" and give her a stern look. She would just cheekily smile back. Most times, Singaporeans being generally unfriendly, would ignore her question since it wasn't directed at them anyway. There was once, however, the guy in the lift with us at the time ... turned around and answered her ... "I'm going swimming" .. Lauren was thrilled to bits that SOMEONE finally answered her question. I was quite mortified and gave him an apologetic look ...

Yesterday, Lauren decided to change her tack.

She's gotten BOLDER - she decided to just ASK THE PERSON DIRECTLY!!!

We were on our way up after buying groceries at Causeway Point .. and at the last moment as the doors were closing, 2 Indian men got in. They hit the button for the 6th floor and the minute the lift doors closed, Lauren wasted no time in smiling broadly at them and asked them, "Where are you from?"

One of them smiled back at her and answered her, "We're from work" ...

Lauren was quite happy with the answer and happily waved and hollered "goodbye" as they got out.

GOOD GRIEF. My daughter is officially Little Miss Kaypoh. lol

Guess who??

It's LAUREN !!! With temporarily straight hair!! I brought her to the hair salon to get her hair trimmed. The guy decided that he needed to flat iron her hair so he could cut her hair properly he said .... commented that her hair was thick and very curly ... lol ... he took a looooong time flat ironing her hair let me tell you ... Lauren dozed off ...

She was very happy with her straight hair (since big sis Claudia and little sis Emily have straight hair -- well kinda - it's wavy I guess ... ) ... and declared that she preferred straight hair over curly hair ! ... Can u mentally calculate the amount of money I'll be spending on her hair rebonding in the future ??

Anyway, here is a BEFORE pic ...

And here is the AFTER photo ... Lauren with STRAIGHT hair .. lol

Heeeee - YAK!! Kung Fu Panda !!

Went with some friends and their kids to watch Kung Fu Panda today ... 10 of us altogether .. our kids have been friends since Clovis days ... lol. Back then, we each had one kid ... there was Claudia, Shane and Ker Wey ... Now, there's a couple more ... lol. The movie was entertaining ... and the kids really had a jolly time laughing their heads off ... Emily fell asleep at the start cos it was comfy and she had just had lunch ... but she woke up midway and sat up quietly to watch the movie too :) -- I've trained all my girls to sit quietly in the cinema from young ... of course I only take them to movies which they would enjoy but I am sure glad they are able to sit through it without fidgeting or bawling ...

Here's a pic of the kids at Cafe Cartel ... Emily and Jun Wey are missing from the pic cos they were seated in high chairs ...

Here's the cheeky monkey in one of those massage chairs at Best Denki ...

Little Picassos ... NOT :) lol

So we spent Friday at home cos I seriously have run out of places to go. lol. Claudia had Chinese tuition that morning anyway and so after lunch, I sat the 2 younger ones down and showed them the "magic painting" book ... you know, you just use a brush and water and paint the picture and the colours appear ... it's a lot less messier than using actual paints .. lol. Emily and Lauren had a fab time ...

I've been tinkering with my HDD and DVD recorder these past few nights .. gosh, I love gadgets .... anyway, the recorder I bought is a gem ... it SO replaces the VCR and more ... I'm such a tv junkie - I have to plan my nights carefully .. currently, I'm watching House, Lost, Prison Break, CSI, CSI New York, Bones, Cold Case, Chuck, Life, Supernatural .. and various other shows on Channel 70 (Home and Living) channel ... my maid is MYSTIFIED as to how I can watch programmes on women giving birth when I am going to do the same in December .. lol

Mall after mall ... sigh

Met up with a good friend for lunch at the TCC at Shaw ... she's preggers too ... I was and still am nauseous btw so I was feeling quite ill after eating my roasted garlic chicken pasta I ordered for myself ... *sigh* ... I KNEW before I ate the food I would get ill cos of the PASTA ... I've noticed that whenever I take too much carbo .. like rice or pasta ... I feel extra nauseous ..

And I did. No surprise there ... I was determined to NOT throw up after lunch cos the pasta was yummy and it would've been a crying shame to dump a $14 pasta into the toilet bowl right after consuming it ...

Anyway, I suffered for a while until the food was digested and I started to feel ok ... Thank goodness I drove or else I don't think I could've endured the almost 1 hour trip home via MRT and bus. I say this cos I was feeling a tad guilty about driving my vehicle all the way to town with only me in it just to have lunch with my friend ... I was thinking I'd try to save a bit on gas money for my poor hubby ... lol. Of course, that was my intention but when push came to shove .. it was just easier and much cooler (air con cool I mean) to just walk down to my basement carpark and drive off listening to my favourite CD. LOL.

On Wednesday, I took my kids to Takashimaya for lunch and to walk aound there ... it was a quick visit .. about 3 hours or so.

Today, we went to Vivocity with friends .. here are some pics ...

We went to this COOL new restaurant and bistro for tea and snacks ... it's called Serenity .. they serve Mediterranean fusion food ... (I think that's what the guy said .. lol) .. it was quite nice .. we had quesadillas .. honey chicken wings .. and I had a tuna sandwich with a serving of fries and salad ... and a mocha latte I think ... pretty decent food .. and nice view of the water and bridge to Sentosa ..

Trawling the malls again ... sigh

We went to United Square today for a free mall show ... it was "High School Musical" ... Claudia and Lauren enjoyed it. It was ok I thought :)

Thankfully, they had a small kiddy play area so Emily was happy entertaining herself during the show.

And of course, I spent money ... *sob* ... bought clothes for the girls at Pumpkin Patch .. (I lurve their clothes ... not ex yet very sweet) and a toy for Emily at Early Learning Centre .. a remote controlled car meant for toddlers .. Lauren likes it as well cos it's easy to control and the car has headlights that come on when you press the buttons.

Some fab finds today!!

Finally, I felt ok to take the girls out today ... that's not to say my nausea is completely gone .. it's still around ... but it's bearable ..

SIGH

We went to Forum cos I wanted to check out the Fisher-Price princess ride on that was on sale at Toys R Us for only 28 bucks!! I've been eyeing it for some time now but it's normal retail price is $50 .. now that it was on sale .. what the hell, man ... I got one for Emily :) It has light and sound when you push the buttons ...

Considering that the thing retails for US$19.99 at Target.com -- see link here -- I thought S$28 was a worthwhile buy ..

I also managed to find arm bands for Emily ... at the Early Learning Centre .. now, I've looked around for arm bands but they are mostly for 3 years and up .. these were the only ones meant for 12 months old and above .. AWESOME !! Worth the $19 I paid for them !! Now I can't wait to take the girls down to the pool .. I got Lauren some new arm bands too .. but hers are Dora :)

Since we were already at Forum, the girls sat for the free mall show .. it was some fairytale song and dance thing ... Lauren liked it but of course, Claudia being 9 years old, thought it was boring ... lol. Emily wanted to watch but the little scaredy cat was too afraid to sit down and insisted on being near me and my maid ... lol

And yes, no outing is complete without Mummy throwing her money into one of these coin suckers ... DAMMIT.

Why buy a playpen when you can have this?!

Here's the thing ... hubby was SUPPOSED to leave today ... and he did ... but then some technical issues came up as they were enroute to Darwin, and he had to turn back ... well, not just him but the other guys in the formation too ... lol.

And guess who had to pick him up? ... sigh. Thank goodness, I'm not usually nauseous in the late morning ...

We decided to go down to Ikea to have a look see at stuff. We walked around then had tea at the cafe ... the girls enjoyed the extra day they had with Daddy .. he leaves again tomorrow ...

Well, let's hope he makes it to Australia this time and doesn't have to fly back ..

Anyway, here are some pics of Emily ... hey, who needs a playpen when you have THIS?!!

See her cheeky little face !!

A morning at the zoo ...

Hubby was leaving for a 6 week trip to Australia on Wednesday so on Tuesday, he was on leave and decided to take the girls to the zoo ... Well, yes, it's the same blardy zoo ... but seriously, where else is there to go in Singapore? Thankfully, the zoo is pretty near for us and I wisely took up a family zoo membership a few years back making it more worthwhile for us to visit the zoo as and when we wanted .. plus we get the tram rides FREE too!!

Anyway, as usual, the weather sucked the day we chose to visit the zoo ... it rained a bit when we first arrived but stopped shortly thereafter and we got to smell the zoo in all it's glory ... and gosh, it sure stinked ... lol.

Here are some shots I took ...

After that, we went to Swensens to have ice-cream ... !!

BTW, have I mentioned that Emily LURVES french fries ... ? Gosh, she can finish a whole pile of fries on her own ... lol :) It don't matter to her whether they're from Swensens or MacDonald's .. as long as they're fries, she'll wallop them ...
