Forget the zoo ...

if you wanna catch monkeys up close and personal ... just take a drive up Old Upper Thomson Road and slow down .. there are TONS of monkeys just loitering around the roadside picking cooties off each other, eating god-knows-what and even doing the nasty ... (I was quite horrified actually) ..

Anyway, there are these other cars that also stop along the way to peer at the monkeys ... who are just LOUNGING around on the roadside .. and funny thing is, some of the monkeys are just as curious about us as we are about them .. trying to look into the car .. I suspect they were waiting for handouts ... We are not supposed to feed the monkeys but of course, some people do ... how annoying. The sign telling people NOT to feed the monkeys is HUGE .. it's a BILLBOARD .. and yet, people still throw food at the monkeys who then come to expect food from people. We spotted a monkey eating a doughnut and another one munching on a "yew char kueh" .. u know, the Chinese longish fried dough ...

Lauren and Emily were THRILLED to see the monkeys right outside our car .. Emily can't say "monkey" ... she says "ma ... meee" ...
Great.
Stanley couldn't stop laughing.

We also drove to Lower Pierce Reservoir for a quick walk .. the girls really enjoyed it .. again there lots of monkeys to see ... my camera batt died on me so all the pics were taken with my N73. It was a rather cloudy day so the pics sucked a bit. dammit.
